Rozalia Project for a Clean Ocean
Rozalia Project addresses the problem of marine debris from the surface to the seafloor and form multiple angles. We get our hands dirty, sandy, salty and muddy and we clean it up from the shoreline. We use nets to clean the surface and we use Hector, the Collector, our remotely operated vehicle (underwater robot) to clean the seafloor. We believe in prevention through education programs and use Hector to connect thousands of people to the underwater world right at their feet – whether it is covered in bottles, cans, cups and food wrappers or we get to see the amazing creatures, the experience is exciting and builds new ocean stewards. We also deliver engaging and action-packed programs to schools, camps, museums and more with the goal to share our data, our experience and our optimism that everyone can make a difference to our oceans. Finally, we conduct solutions-based research learning everything we can about the problem of ocean pollution in order to be more effective with prevention and remediation.
