Organics 4 Orphans
Organics 4 Orphans was created in 2008 in western Kenya to set up community based organic learning gardens where food security would not be an issue. Growing disease fighting food was the focus to overcome tropical diseases. Within a couple years there were over 100 projects.
In 2007-2008 the world experienced a food crisis. The cost of fertilizer doubled in a decade and fuel prices escalated. The worst hit were those facing extreming poverty because basic food costs doubled. Dale and Linda Bolton recognized that amoungst the extreme poor many of the orphaned children had little to no chance of getting life sustaining food.
In 2011 Organics 4 Orphans was excited to welcome other organizations who were interested in finding out how to set up projects in the countries that their organizations represented. Month long seminars were developed to help equip these people to help the extreme poor learn about organic gardening and natural medicine.
Today we have dozens of partners in different countries spreading the news about growing disease fighting food.
